Sorry for the brutal honesty, but instead of letting you continue to believe that this oversaturated method of promoting books will work for you we would much prefer to show you something that will work for your book.
But why won't it work for your book? And, if it won't work, why does everyone else keep telling you how to get reviews?
The reason getting book reviews won't work is a matter of sheer mathmatics. There are close to 300,000 books published each year. That amounts to well over 5,000 books per WEEK that are vying for space in the review section. If a newspaper were to run reviews on all these books it would fill up the entire newspaper.
So, book review editors only consider the most major publishers' books and even then only the slightest few of them get reviewed. It is just too hard to base your book marketing on getting book reviews.
But this is not all bad news.
There are other ways to get covered in newspapers and magazines. And it is MUCH EASIER than reviews.
