We often see two distinct approaches to marketing Christian books. One is to choose a secular topic from your book and market that - letting readers find out when they get far enough in that your book is Christian. The other path is to market it as a Christian book for Christian readers.
Of the two you will probably find that being direct will lead to easier marketing. After all you are not trying to "hide" one of the book's biggest strengths. Plus you can avoid the whole dilemma of being too Christian for the secular audience while simultaneously being too secular for the Christian crowd.
Publicity can work well for your Christian book, but don't overlook the special sales approach. Getting recommendations from clergy or selling into churches can be a very powerful component of your marketing.
