Book Distributor

Ever wonder why it is so hard to get your self published book handled by a book distributor? After all, it is their job to get great books onto bookstore shelves, so the fact that you’re having such a hard time getting lined up with a book distributor is probably very frustrating.

There are some things you can do to help.

1
Respect their timelines.
Book distributors have very strict timelines they work within. Be sure you know when to send stuff to them and when to follow up. If you miss an important deadline it will be almost impossible to get back into the loop.

2
Show them what they want to see.
Since they receive so many books each day they have to eliminate books very quickly. If you don’t send them what they want to see you will go straight into the “reject” pile.

3
Get your pricing right.
Book distributors work with book buyers every day. Book buyers make decisions about whether or not a particular book will sell and the price is a huge part of it. Price your book within the same price range as your competition.

We hope that was of some help in your quest for finding the perfect relationship with your book distributor.
